good day to everyone!
my maintenance team is having a hard time of eliminating the engine vibration warning light in our uh-id helicopters. we 've check the alignment of the engine, the mountings, by pods, tri pods and we've done all the trouble shooting procedures that can be found in the technical manuals but the problem still remain.
we have uh-1h and uh-1d. our uh-1h do not have an engine vibration analyzer but our uh-1d has.
can someone please give us an idea on how the engine vibration analyzer came into use in the uh-1d. and why does the uh-1h do not have it.
and can we ask for other opinions on how to correct the aircraft discrepancy.
by the way the engine that we are using is the 703 engines.
thank you...
I have never known of a military UH-1 to have an engine vibration analyzer. Analyzers can pickup vibrations of other components that are a harmonic frequency. ( 2,000 4,000' 8000 ) An item such as the oil cooler turbine, tail rotor driveshaft or starter generator that is close to the engine may be picked up by the analyzer. It may be something not related to the engine. Good luck If you find it please let uh1ops know.
