UH-1 Transmission Oil Lines

In regards to the UH-1-05- ASAM-01 military message on transmission oil lines.

I have personally seen this happen at least 10 times.

The Army put out a message concerning this problem three different times over about 10 years, but they never changed the maintenance manual or the parts manual. They said the aircraft would be out of the inventory in two years ( over at least 15 years ) so they didn’t need to change the books.

Every couple of years new people came in and did what they were supposed to do and maintained the aircraft in accordance with the books, thus putting back in the previously removed QD’s. Then the Army would issue another message still not changing the books. Hope this helps. Pete Sacramento Fire
