Control Tubes

Just a quick observation on possibly an overlooked item, on something that might fall under

complacency. During your heavy maintenance sessions, or when the aircraft is parked for the winter,

take a look at your control tubes, especially those long ones under the floors and structure, and in the tailboom. Disconnect them from their bellcranks, and take a look at the bearings, mounting hardware, and surrounding surfaces, not to mention the tubes and clevises themselves. When you are ready to reinstall the tubes, rotote them 180 degrees, no telling how many years those tubes have been hanging in the same way. Get the most out of your equipment. Hope this helps.
