Pilot and Co-Pilot shoulder harness
Where the Pilot and Co-Pilot shoulder harness connects to the inertia reel strap, it should be attached with a clevis bolt, also known as a shoulder bolt, not a standard bolt.
The nut securing a clevis bolt should not be tightened so tight that it doesn’t allow the attached components to pivot on the clevis bolt.
That is why a clevis blot is called fore.
In the photo a standard bolt was used and tightened down tight. Notice the stress points on the straps.
This puts a tension load on only a small area of the straps which could lead to premature or catastrophic failure.
